The great news boycott of 2010

The truth is ... I hate to watch the news. It is usually depressing and filled with more violence than a slasher movie. So this morning, I was struck by a funny video and decided to share the world news that I would like to watch:

Immigration officer fired after putting wife on list of terrorists to stop her flying home
An immigration officer tried to rid himself of his wife by adding her name to a list of terrorist suspects.
He used his access to security databases to include his wife on a watch list of people banned from boarding flights into Britain because their presence in the country is ‘not conducive to the public good’.
As a result the woman was unable for three years to return from Pakistan after traveling to the county to visit family.

Lesson Learned by creating this blog post.
I thought this was going to be an easy task. I found a story I thought was hilarious and decided to "go with it." I was going to write this amazing blog with all sorts of commentary on funny news stories. I went to Google, Yahoo, and MSN - my favorite search engines. You know what I found? Funny stories that I don't think are funny. Crude jokes about people's private parts. Photoshopped pictures. Violence. More violence. Violence with taser guns. Violence with "not so bright" criminals. This wasn't what I was looking for! ~I'm not going to lie...I'm a little distressed that even the search for "funny news stories" or "weird news" or "odd news" doesn't bring up anything better than a miniature turtle.
