Make Me Laugh Monday: Get Jesus out of the Barbie CAR!

I was asked to be a contributing writer at a Christian Woman’s Blog.  I said Yes.  It is www.mustlovegod.net.  I’m super excited and can’t wait to start writing all these posts in my heart.

But – truth be told… I cussed three people out today.  If it helps – I didn’t do it to their face.

I’m really glad the website is called Must Love God.  I definitely do…. but I am such a sinner.

IMG_0026[1]
While we are still on the topic of religion… I bought the kids a Veggie Tales Nativity Set the other day. And, I’m totally conflicted about it. You see…. here is the thing – We have a Nativity Scene. It is our “no touch” nativity. And… part of me says the kids should be able to interact with the Nativity. They should be able to touch baby Jesus and they should be able to “feel” that which is hard to touch. So I bought the Veggie Tales Nativity. Here is my little problem. What if they start playing Barbie with Baby Jesus? I have a real problem with baby Jesus hopping a ride in the Barbie Car.

Which makes me think about how I come off online.  I talk a lot about the praying that I do.  Praying for guidance… Praying for wisdom…. Praying for my children.  I don’t necessarily come out and blog about when I am irritated about things.  (Ok. Well sometimes I do.)  But – I don’t come out and air all our dirty laundry.  (Ok.  Well… believe it or not – what I do air is not ALL of it.)

I was getting dressed yesterday and wondering what I was going to put together for this post.  As I was doing this – I was racing around our house, after my 3 minute shower, trying to find a pair of underware (living room), trying to find a pair of clean pants (basement), and trying to find a clean shirt (hmmmm…. closet).  I totally gave up on the sock issue.
IMG_0810[1]

Did you know that 99% of the time I’m wearing socks with holes in them or socks that are on “day2”?  Seriously – sometimes I even break down and buy packs of socks – only to see them disappear and I’m back to my holey / dirty socks.  Today, at church, was no example.  Sock on left foot – dirty.  Sock on right foot – 3 holes.  They didn’t match.  Don’t believe me?  I have evidence….

IMG_0811[1]

I can tell you this.  I usually end up having two pictures taken of me.  Picture 1 – real me.

Then I look at picture 1 and realize I didn’t “suck in my neck”

IMG_0812[1]

and thus – picture 2.

See… I’m a completely different person.  Just like online.

Happy Monday.  Got anything for us?  The only rule is your “photo” / “video” / and now “drawing” has to be your own.  Link up.

Make Me Laugh Monday : Vacation

Sometimes it is really hard to get out of bed on Monday Mornings.  Laugh along with us as we bring some cheer into your dreary Mondays.  Just post a picture (taken by you) – and tell us why its funny.  Heck, you can even make up the story if you want.  We don’t care.  Just make us laugh.  Link back here so everyone can share!

Photobucket

All of these are TRUE statements / stories.

IMG_0662

I have really big feet.  No lie.

IMG_0666

I feel old. Like I should be in Steel Magnolias.  Or smoking a cigarette on a front porch or something. I think these foils make my nose look bigger.

We spent this weekend at Colonial Williamsburg.  It was awesome.  I’ll blog about it tomorrow… but for now – here are a few funny things.

We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and go shopping at the outlet mall.  Our GPS was a literal life saver (and marriage saver) for us.  Ray found an outlet mall he wanted to try.  I plugged in the ONLY outlet mall our GPS found in Williamsburg.  Ray insisted it was not the right one – and turned off the GPS.  He then turned the car to go in the direction of his preferred outlets.  We found them… I managed to snap a few pictures when he turned around.

Exhibit A:
IMG_0720
Exhibit B:
IMG_0721

They will probably be open next year.  And… we turned the GPS back on.

IMG_0723IMG_0726
These last two pictures crack me up – more for what they “say” than what they are.  First of all… while shopping – At the REAL outlet mall – Andrew went off with his dad.  When we finally met up later – he said (and I quote) “They didn’t have ANYTHING in my size.  Now I’ll NEVER have anything to wear.”  … Oh the drama.

And the second picture makes me laugh because at some point they will realize these machines move if you put money in them.  But not today… we still have yet to put money in the machines.  They still think you hop on and pretend. Smile Being a mom is awesome.

I know you have a funny picture somewhere.  Link up and share the fun!

Make Me Laugh Monday: Christmas is in the air….

Welcome  to this week’s edition of Make Me Laugh Monday.  Where you can embarrass yourself on my blog with funny pictures, funny stories, or … just laugh along while I embarrass myself (or my kids).  Either way… Mondays shouldn't be a bad start to the week. Life is too short.

First up:

Andrew has a “Christmas list”

Secondly….

Andrew and Addison sing and dance to “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas”  Seriously. Too Funny.

Next up…. The time when I post photos that will make us all cringe  smile.

IMG_0553IMG_0583
For those of you trying to copy Alexander’s Runway StyleHe is wearing a classic sweat shirt under a one two of a kind sleeping bag given to him by his girlfriends E and E, followed with yellow shades.  The new style is to cover one eye. … yes – he did this on purpose.
AddisonMooooommmmmyyyyyyyy…… I need more PPPPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNKKKKK. please.
              IMG_0588                      IMG_0589

I know you are wondering about the spoon.  It ran into the blender. Enough Said.

IMG_0607

Black Friday Madness.  See that Big Black Ottoman? Didn’t plan to buy it.  Or almost anything in that cart. I just couldn’t pass it up. *sigh*
IMG_0649

Finally … my favorite funny picture. This “hug” lasted all of 3 seconds.  You can see how thrilled they both are for it.  But her mom and I are forever friends.  So they will hug at every special occasion. ….. until they are 50 or so.  So go on and make those faces girls. I will just keep posting them.

Have something funny you want to share? Come on – Link up and join the fun! And .. if you have a minute – post the button to link back and share the love!

MMLM–“Kids Say the Darndest Things”

Welcome to Make Me Laugh Monday.  Where we try to take the sucky out of Mondays.  The only real rule – the photo must be yours.  Almost everything else is fair game.  Give us a real story, fake story, (you get the picture…) Link up and share the laughs.

Photobucket

Sometimes photos make us laugh.  Sometimes … its videos.

First up – Pictures
IMG_0548[1]
* I am not preparing to rob a bank. *
* I have Parking Lot Duty *
* This means I patrol the student parking lot keeping students safe *
* I also have to catch smokers.  And … other deviants. *
* Do you know how many students I’ve given time slips to? *
* That probably dream of being able to hit me with a moving object? *
*So …. I’m undercover.   Plus – it was really stinking cold! *

IMG_0525[1]

Truth… I still eat peanut butter for dinner.  Sometimes.  It is … delicious. easy. and…. well – are there other reasons?  For your viewing pleasure – I can pretend to be healthy…. just check out that cucumber on the plate.

IMG_0563[2]

Addison has decided to dress Andrew.  He is currently sporting Princess Pumps.  I love this photo.  He looks like a deer in headlights.  Addison looks like she was born to love shoes.  And… in the background were my husband and father in law trying to convince Andrew to put on a pair of boots.  Someday soon he will cave and wear the boots.  I’m gonna smile at these pictures while I can capture them.

Next up … The Videos

Andrew has become quite the negotiator.  He is so funny.  In this clip – he has decided he needs some train stuff and is coming to try to convince me to get it for him. Love it!

Second – Did you know that Addison is an awesome singer?  She rocks out to the Diego song and the Veggie Tales song, “Love your Neighbor.”

Finally… this is video is just another Saturday morning.  Andrew is fixing things… and Addison is asking for money.

I’m not going to lie… I watched these videos over and over…. because they kept cracking me up.  I love that we will have these memories to keep forever.  Love it.

So …. Let’s have it.  What do you have that can make us laugh on a Monday Morning?  Link up!

MMLM: A Week of Random Humor

This week has been filled with laughable moments.  Here are a few:

Welcome to this week’s edition of Make Me Laugh Monday.  Where you can embarrass yourself on my blog with funny pictures, funny stories, or … just laugh along while I embarrass myself.  Either way… Mondays shouldn't be a bad start to the week. Life is too short.

IMG_0450

Still running.  If you can call it that. Remember when I confessed that I sweat like a pig as I stumble along the trail?  Well, this Under Armor scull cap does the trick – but it does make me look ridiculous.  My running partner even had to tell me to take it off the other day. *sigh* I’m going to put a beanie on over top Smile

IMG_0496

Speaking of …. My running buddy.  He LOVES to be outside with me while I run. He actually giggles as the wind hits his face.  And I love that I can lean on the stroller when I think I’m going to fall over push extra weight to build muscles.

IMG_0500

We decided to do a “fun run” to support a local foundation.  The foundation has a great cause – but 2 miles like THIS is a little much.  Stinkers.  Let’s just say we didn’t actually run too much.

IMG_0460

On to other things… I took Andrew grocery shopping with me and he started screaming not to crush the eggs.  I could not for the life of me figure out where the eggs were he was talking about.  Until he pointed them out.  The little heat stones on my back wrap heat pad.  If you are wondering why I needed a heat pad – see above photo.

IMG_0457

Addison has become quite the fashionista.  She does things like this all the time.  I love that girl!

IMG_0489Funny story.  Ray went to a football game and I was left in charge of the children.  Normally… this is no problem.  But,  they were spoiled watched by my mother and aunt who love them to death, and they were wound up beyond belief.  Finally, at bedtime, I told them to clean up.  I see them grabbing all their trucks and toys and running.  I can hear them say to each other, “hide.” Here is where I found them.  Hiding behind the curtain.  I’m not going to lie… it was too funny.  I took a photo.  Then I said, “why did you guys hide your toys instead of just putting them away?”  And I hear Addison yell, “RUN!” After which they both took off running.  I could not help but laugh.

So that is basically the funny moments I was able to to capture on camera.
Have something funny to share?  Story? Photo?  Want to make up a story to go with a photo? We don’t care. Just so the photo is yours.  Link up. Share. Laugh with us.  If you want to post the button on your blog, that would be awesome too.

MMLM: I will Run for a Big Mac

I hate to run. I mean hate.  As in…

I would rather have my teeth drilled.  Get a weggie for life.  Go without talking for a month.   I’m not a runner.

I joke that the only way people will see me run is to get a Big Mac.

When I was in high school – I was the goalie in field hockey because I hated to run.

In softball – a homerun only came if I hit the ball out of the park.

I sweat like a pig.

It is painful for others to watch.

Sort of like Phoebe from Friends

Still not my “Make Me Laugh Monday” Photo…

Does it mean you’ve hit rock bottom when you make a tape to be on Biggest Loser?  ‘Cause – then I’ve hit rock bottom.  If it doesn’t mean you’ve hit rock bottom…. then I will let you know what comes next. Smile

Anyway, I thought – this is ridiculous! I can’t leave my family for 3 months to go get skinny healthy with hot Bob and win a Million dollars or so while doing it!  I should just go for a run

And then I remembered that I hate to run.

So I downloaded “Couch to 5K” on my IPhone. (There was never a more literal translation of this app.)

Immediately I had a list of questions:

What should I wear?  What will make my butt jiggle more like J-Lo and less like Jell-O?  Can I do it? Every time I see people before a big race – they are all lined up at the bathroom… What if I have to poop on my run?  (I was headed to a park.) Should I get new runner’s shoes?  What about my sweating problem? I think I have to poop now…

I tried to find a sweat headband and get ready to go run.  I couldn’t find one… so I attempted a substitute
IMG_0394

This is me. Ready for a run. Day 1 – Run 1 – On Couch to 5K.  With one of the twin’s bandanas on my head to catch my excessive sweat.

I’m trying to look tough. ..

Plan thwarted when Raymond informed me that he would not take me to the park looking that ridiculous.  (And he usually puts up with my ridiculousness.)

So we went. I ran. (A bit).  And I walked. (A lot).  But I did it.  I didn’t die…  And there was no Big Mac at the end of the line.

(Oh…. and it was definitely Jell-O … not J-Lo.)

Want to know a secret?  When I run with Alexander, people think he’s a newborn so I look like I’m just getting back in shape after having a baby. HaHa!
IMG_0396     IMG_0395
This is quite possibly the stupidest thing I’ve done… ever.  Learning to run in PA in November / December.

List of things I need – now that I’m a serious runner:
* Running Sneakers
* Sweat Headband
* Face Mask to keep me from developing “Runner’s Asthma”
* Under armor Shirt
* Under armor Pants
* Pants that hide my rear end while I run.
* Shoot – how about a new body that looks like I should be running?
* Socks without holes

Probably you will see me on Biggest Loser next month. Smile

So…  Share.  Make Us All Laugh.  Just Link up.  If you would be so kind as to put the button on your page – that would rock too.

Make Me Laugh Monday

Today is the first edition of “Make Me Laugh Monday.”  FYI – If you have a better name for the Meme… then let me know – I’m open to suggestions.  But, for now, this is all I’ve got.

The concept is this.  You know those random photos you take when something strikes you as funny?

IMG_1262-1

Like when you see the random guy walking without shoes like he thinks he is one Dual Survivor?  And you just have to snap his picture because what is up with him?  We are not in the wilderness and you are not Cody from that show.

Well…. this is the place for those photos.  You can:

Post a picture that strikes you as funny with no description.
Post a picture and story that strikes you as funny…. The story can be real or fictional.
Really… the only rule is – the picture should be yours.  Then link up here and grab the button to send your readers over to see everyone else’s.

I envision this as an awesome way to start the week. Smile

You really only need one photo – but I actually have a few this past week – so here goes:

IMG_0316Remember THIS POST?  About how I didn’t really fit in with the “cool kids?”  Well, I got a package from my twin mom friend Kristin this past week – and here’s what I pulled out. SCARVES!  I couldn’t stop laughing at such a funny and thoughtful gift.  FYI – the Camo one was so I wouldn’t forget my roots….

Yes, I live in hillbilly land.  IF I get signed with some big publishing company – I will have to find an excuse to wear my camo scarf so I can stay “grounded” in Pennsyltucky.

We are trying to teach the kids to be better communicators.

So what have you got?  Funny Photo.  Funny Photo and Story.  We will take them all.  Grab the button and link up.

Photobucket

Honestly… I’m not sure that button will be the official one either. Although I am partial to my “crossing guard in the rain” photo….
